Apparently the Brewers are fuming about the postponed game yesterday lmao

Dammit, why did the Cubs poke the Bear. Now they're triple-doomed.

Oh, I see that the idea is that the Cubs wanted an off day for their exhausted bullpen. The same bullpen where in the last 2 days(now 3), Davis and Edwards didn't pitch, and Strop, Rondon, and Uehara each pitched 1 inning. And Floro was called up for long relief. Yes, quite brilliant of the Cubs indeed.

Okay, one more: http://www.brewcrewball.com/2017/5/21/15672120/brewers-cubs-rainout-david-stearns-craig-counsell-rain-delay

Baseball is more fun when two rivals are good at the same time.

As much schadenfreude as some Brewers fans might have had when the Chicago Cubs were going through a rebuilding process in 2011 while the Brewers were on their way to a division title and NLCS appearance, things were more fun in 2008, when both teams were postseason contenders. Every game felt more important and more personal.

We might be getting back to that point.

So that's what Cubs Twitter was mocking Tom Hardicourt about. I wouldn't know, he blocked me for mocking his since-deleted tweet saying Theo Epstein was committing career suicide by going to the Cubs.

Part of me would be annoyed that the meatballs would get so much satisfaction if Schwarber started hitting now that he's not hitting leadoff, but a MUCH bigger part of me is, like, "horsefeathers it; I just wanna see some dongs."

And that was a good start, Zobrist.

Definitely missed any sort of discussion about this, but how long have game threads be members only? Was that a playoff thing?

It was a playoff only thing that we reinstated because the site tends to become real sluggish right about the same time as opposing teams score runs.

I really do like the thought of Zobrist batting lead off until Schwarbs figures his stuff out. It only matters once really, but I'd rather have Zobrist and his .350-.360 on-base percentage start our first inning, because it's a great opportunity to score a run with who is behind him. Granted, I'd put Schwarber in the cleanup spot and not No. 2, but still.

Basically I'm good with almost any lineup of Bryant, Rizzo, Schwarber and Zobrist somehow making up the first four spots.

I didn't know that baseball rules allowed the Cubs to score in the first inning if their opponent hadn't already scored. This is a momentous occasion
