Great stuff.

One suggestion, the comparisons to Bryant were really good, but it feels like a table might have illustrated them much better than reading about them in paragraph form. Having tried to create tables in the editor I can sympathize with not wanting to go through that hassle though.

Outstanding work, Duke. As you mentioned, there are a few factors working against Schwarber that will likely always suppress his BA a little bit (pull tendency and deep count succeptibility to ump discretion chief among them) but the gains in contact are definitely nice to see. In a lot of his Ks he hasn't looked overmatched but rather has just finally lost the battle after fighting off several tough pitches. When I got on him about going Gallo it was only in relation to his K% approaching 40 at that time. I love watching that dude at the plate. He has enormous oppo power and hope he can tap into that a little bit.

Again, great article

Outstanding article. The final paragraph comparing him to some of the best hitters in the game is bonerific. Someone must have a gif for that

This slump isn't going to last.

Odd that his splits aren't much diffent and favor LHP a bit although the LHP sample size is small. I don't think facing LHP'ing is the problem, he's not hitting RHP'ing either right now. He says he's not taking a different approach leading off, his patient eye is there, but maybe he needs to be a bit more aggressive earlier in counts? Hopefully we are all laughing about this slump come All-Star break.

LHP .182 .379 .364 .743

RHP .222 .329 .365 .694
