Going to my first ever Stanley Cup playoff game on Sunday. Can't wait

pray it ends in regulation

Good news is its a 6pm start.

Bad news is I have to be at work at 5am on Monday

Well this game is nuts. CBJ up 3-1 after six minutes. What a fun game to be at. This crowd is bonkers

Damn, was really hoping the Jackets would have won. Crazy game to go to though.

Bobrovsky is playing like horsefeathers and the Jackets have no answer for the Crosby line

The Pens are looking like they might have gotten hot at the right time again. I think the Jackets can win 1 here, but I can't see them taking this series much further than 5.

Pretty excited about them playing either the Caps or the Leafs in the next round. I'll probably go to one of the games in DC if its Pens-Caps.

I'm highly annoyed that Marc-Andre Fleury was pushed into action this series and turned into the second coming of Patrick Roy this series.

They rode him to one Stanley Cup forever ago, and Fleury has always struck me as being a guy whose performance issues after that were mental in nature.

Maybe having the job thrust upon him was a good thing, didn't have time to psyche himself out.

How scared is the NHL of the possibility of Edmonton, Nashville and/or Ottawa making the SCF? 8 of the last 9 SCF have had Chicago, NY, Boston or Pittsburgh involved and the other one was LA vs NYC metro (which had terrible ratings).

The NHL is probably thrilled at the potential of Canadian teams in the SCF. They're falling over themselves begging for the scenario.

No one in America cares about the NHL playoffs unless it's Chicago. Even then, I wonder if the ratings would be down in wake of the Cubs winning the World Series making what the Hawks have done recently as sort of yesterday's news.

I would think they'd be thrilled with PIT/NYR vs EDM, and okay with the Ducks but extremely disappointed in any of the other teams. EDM has the allure of the historical franchise with ties to Gretzky, but they aren't going to be happy with Ottawa. Nobody cares a bit about Ottawa.

Edmonton would be ok also because of McDavid. I'm just basing it on the fact that the last time Edmonton and Ottawa participated in the SCF, the numbers were anemic. Granted this was immediately after a crippling lockout, but the numbers make it hard for me to believe that the NHL is begging for Edmonton or Ottawa to make the SCF.

Of course I'm only considering the US audience. I'm guessing the Canadian TV audience is much less elastic based on who is actually in the SCF, but I don't know that for a fact.

Also, you don't think Washington would get a pretty good audience? DC metro is 6th largest in the country, have a big name star that resonates about as much as anyone in hockey, have a recent tortured history, and a title starved fan base.
