i feel like the closest i've ever seen in a game was sammy hitting one to the CF camera shed in the nlcs, but i could be forgetting another.

Yeah. Not serious. That HR Sosa hit in the NLCS was 490' and it wasn't even close to hitting the scoreboard.

 

By the way, barely missing this list was Sosa's most famous postseason homer that year, a 490-footer in the NLCS that somehow cleared the TV camera stand behind the bleachers in dead center. I saw that one live.

 

Best quip afterward came from Doug Glanville: "You know it's a long home run when the center-field camera has to point up to show it."
