One phenominal season as a 22 yr. old and 6 other seasons with a line of .269/24 HRs/70 RBI/ 2.9 WAR makes for a solid everyday OF, but not a generational talent in my book. As I said before, he's young enough to add to his legacy, but right now his season as a 22 yr. old looks like an outlier. A lot of potential, a ton of hype, and a whole lotta money.

you forgetting about his 2017 where he went .319/.413/.595?

he has a career .900 OPS, and that's with a bunch of plate appearances as a teenager weighing it down

How many RBIs did he have that year though?

one concern i have about him offensively is whether or not he can keep his BA w/2 out and RISP high enough to maintain his run producer status

The numbers include 2017. Again a very good player with the potential to add to his legacy and possibly become a generational talent, but I wouldn't consider him one yet.

Where does this book of yours rate Jim Hendry among GM candidates?

Honestly, as far as this argument is concerned, it doesnt matter to me what Bryce does going forward. Unless you can tell me that in the history of baseball it is typical that every few years a 22 year old will win MVP with a 1.100+ OPS? The fact that this 22 year old MVP winner was also drafted 1.1 overall as a 17 year old and had 22 major league homeruns under his belt before he turned 20... I mean, I don't know how else to tell you that these kinds of players don't happen very often.

I don't deny that he came in with a splash and had a phenominal season at 22 years old, but to me a generational talent is someone who consistently puts up the kind of numbers that will be remembered by the next generation. Again, he's very capable of putting up those numbers in the future, but it's certainly not a sure thing looking at his track record.

I haven't heard Jim Hendry's name mentioned as a GM candidate.

I like the idea of having two weirdos on the team who don’t drink or seemingly enjoy anything in life other than their weird religion, doing Red Bull promos and working on being good baseball players Edited by Cubswin11

I have mormon friends who smoke pot but do not drink. I think there's hope.

I have Muslim friends that drink, but don't smoke pot. I have no idea why they choose to do one and not the other? People are weird.

jesus christ the "generation talent" horsefeathers is such a meaningless term anyway. who cares??? he's 26 and he's put up the 8th most offensive war since his debut and half of his career he's been the same age as a low minor leaguer. if someone wants to argue that he's not a once in a lifetime player or something, have fun. I just want the mother funker on my team

given his religious nature and lack of children, can we truly say he's funked a mother?
