Guys, are the Bulls actually good? I'm 100% a fair weather Bulls fan...let me know if this is an illusion.

There will be adjustments, probably injuries, opening week energy will die down. But they seem to be pretty good and Fred is using them well so I think it's more legit than not legit.

Going into the season, this was a tough team to peg since it's so weirdly constructed. I expected them to be among the 4th tier of East teams with Orlando and Washington, battling for the 8 spot because the front office feels like the NBA playoffs participation is a valuable end goal.

Now it's just been 3 games in favorable circumstances, but they already have wins against 2 teams in thought were better than them.

Actually, ESPNs playoff odds illustrate the difference these 3 games have made pretty well. At the start of the season they were projecting at 40-42, at the back end of playoff contention. Today they are projected for 47-35, with a 95% chance of making the playoffs.

I still think they're going to be hard pressed to finish ahead of any of Cleveland, Boston, Toronto or Atlanta, but they've played well enough so far to bump their season projection by 7 games already, so who knows for sure.

Before the season I thought the people who thought they'd miss the playoffs were nuts and figured low mid 40's 6ish seed. Now I'm thinking more like low 50's 2-3 seed.

BUT BOY DO I SURE WISH WE HAD TANKED

I mean, it's unfathomable that this team could let Rose, Noah and Gasol walk and somehow not get younger and more athletic.

However, the offense is pushing the tempo like crazy so far, and they're giving themselves second opportunities by getting offensive rebounds. It'll be interesting to see how other teams adjust to the pace of the Bulls, and see if they can keep it rolling through the season.

Honestly I still believe in the logic that made me pessimistic about the season, I was just probably wrong.

Okay, they looked good tonight. I'm feeling, I don't know, a 6 or 7 seed right now. That will probably change a bunch this year though.

they looked good and you're feeling a 6 or 7 seed? does not compute.

But what does fangraphs playoff % say?

A 2 or 3 seed? I'd say beating two teams on the back side of their first back to backs of the year, along with beating a horrible team in NJ and Orlando.....Sorry, I'm not seeing it. I see a 38 to 46 win team, based on health.

I'm glad they didn't rebuild, since they got Wade. But this isn't doing anything but postponing things from getting worse soon.

4-3 and didn't look so good in losses. They seem inconsistent, their style feels inconsistent yet they are better than last year so that's where I feel right now.

I think we are worse than Boston, Cleveland and Toronto right now and unsure about Charlotte and indiana.

Have the Bulls even come close to beating the Hawks since Budenholzer has been their coach? Seems like we lose every time we play them and it's never close.
