i kind of quietly expected this might happen...definitely would've picked them +6. the vikings line has been horrific and mcphee had shown signs vs green bay. plus we had jay back.

 

that said, that wasn't really my point. you made this post after you already made a post earlier acknowledging that they were winning. just weird is all.

Weird game. Jay looked a little off at times, but by and large played a pretty good game, and Fox's conservatism actually worked out because Howard was a workhorse.

 

Vikings offense being horrible helped too.

Jay was rusty but he eventually settled in. I think he played through some pain because he was missing some throws early on by miles. And yeah, Alshon blew some big plays.

 

Hats off to Howard. He looked like a master with his patience and explosion tonight. He digs in and keeps churning upon contact. I love it.

 

The defense though... [expletive], I can't wait for a healthy Goldman to add to that front. McPhee and Floyd are gonna flush the pocket consistently and our DL should eat up the QB.

Exactly. Year one Jay was legit bad Jay, but the D was down at that time too. Then they went to the NFC Championship and were 7-3 the following year. They were basically as good or better than they were in the years leading up to the SB. Then they still went on to another 10 win season before the coaching changes, aging, and the lack of player development caught up to them.
