Yes, I know we can't make trades yet. But I'm bored waiting for a party to start up tonight and the Cubs were no help, so I was looking at my keeper points.

Keeping for certain (exempt guys):

Bryant

Correa

Schwarber

Sanchez

Cotton (stupid fifth start today)

Norris

Additional exempt options:

Profar

Guerra

Guys I REALLY want to keep:

Trout (635)

Carp (430.5)

Kluber (626.5)

Price (521)

Guys I'd like to keep:

Bradley (495.25)

Cruz (555)

Duffy (460.5)

Strasburg (399)

Carrasco (387.5)

Others of some note:

Pence (310)

Martin (349.5)

Smyly (314)

Scenarios that work on points as of today (points still to come on Sat + Sun):

Bryant + Correa + Schwarber + Sanchez + Cotton + Norris + ...

Kluber + Price + Carp + Strasburg (1977)

Kluber + Price + Trout + Profar (1782.5)

Trout + Price + Carp + Strasburg (1985.5)

There are going to be some tough choices to be had. It basically comes down to losing one of Kluber or Trout vs losing both of Carp + Strasburg. I guess it'll come down to what I can get in trade for those guys. It would be really hard to give up the best player in baseball, but going into next year with a pitching staff of Kluber / Price / Strasburg / Sanchez / Norris / Cotton would be ridiculous.

It sucked losing in the playoffs *again* but at least next year looks pretty damn good still.

horsefeathers it. make trades all you want. you post stuff like this every year and then start negotiating while most teams aren't and then the second trades are allowed, boom you have a trade already worked out. so whatever. anyone can trade whenever with whomever. knock yourselves out.

i don't know how many slots we have to fill, but it's a lot. maybe 4-5. can everyone post here if they're planning to manage again next year?

looks like we only have 3-5 confirmed teams (i'm assuming there are managers who just don't check this forum or don't care to reply, which is not unlike how this league operates during the season too). keepers are usually due on valentine's day but we're a long way from having the teams ready.

so are we putting this league out of its misery? or does someone have a bunch of good managers ready to step in?

Damn. Was really excited about my team this offseason, too.

Bryant, Carpenter, Correa, Trout, Schwarber + Price, Sanchez, Smyly, Norris, Cotton, Guerra comes out to 1933.75 points.

Bryant, Correa, Trout, Schwarber + Kluber, Price, Sanchez, Norris, Cotton, Guerra comes out to 1803.25 points

Then whatever I could get in trade for Cruz, Bradley, Kluber/Carpenter, Strasburg, Duffy, Carrasco.

How the hell did I not win last year?

My question is who is the 8th manager. If another person has said they're in and I missed it or forgot, I want to correct that before eliminating half the league. If we only have 7, I want to know that so we can try to find 1 more.

I just sent pigeons a message to see if he wants to return as the 8th manager. He was active so maybe he'd stay.

I can't seem to change the league settings but maybe that's b/c we haven't paid for 2017? Anyone know?
