So why exactly isn't Eloy in Myrtle Beach yet?

My guess is because Myrtle Beach isn't in the playoffs and South Bend is. The Cubs FO has been quoted as saying they want their players to get post season experience, especially their top prospects.

We're not 100% sure KB can hit 40. Same with Rizzo. Potential doubt on Schwarber hitting 30. Can Javy or Addy hit 25? For that matter, can Willie hit 20?

I guess we can run the risk of more disappointment, when Eloy only hits 48 as a 21 year old. But Theo needs to get his horsefeathers together.

Are we sure it wasn't Soler and Eloy that pissed into a fountain together and changed bodies? Potentially some time in the offseason?

I mean, he could be there as soon as next summer at 20, a pretty elite track as it is. It's not as if there's a fire Jimenez has to get to in Chicago.

No, of course there's no rush. Just the thought that he'd be able to handle AA at 19 is crazy.

I remember reading that the Cubs basically asked the Yankees who they preferred between Torres and Eloy during trade discussions for Chapman. Torres is a great prospect but I'm surprised that they chose Torres. Perhaps the Cubs and Yankees both valued Eloy higher and it was basically Torres+the package they got or Eloy+lesser package. Either way I'm thrilled the Cubs held onto him and I hope we see him come up with the Cubs and not traded.

That came from the Yankees side, if I'm not mistaken. Personally, I find it highly unlikely we'd move Eloy, especially right now. His value once he hits the upper levels and produces will dwarf what it is now.

Torres was going to be our SS prospect that was legit blocked. Much easier for us to move him.

When you are in a rebuilding mode, when in doubt pick the SS. If they pan out and stay there--or even have to move 2B, much better value there as an average hitter than a very good (not great) hitting RF.
