I am ok with moving him, I think Contreras kind of makes him more expendable, but for a huge return. A Jose Fernandez type return, not for a reliever.

Even if he were just a complete embarrassment out there, he's shown that he is the King Dong Masher. He's gonna hit 40 home runs and walk a ton. Yeah, he's gonna be less valuable if he costs you 20 runs in the outfield. But, he really could be special with the bat. He was playing at above a 4-win pace last year, and that's with a long slump to end the year. He probably just scratched the surface of his potential as a hitter, as far as contact and average goes.

 

So, yeah, maybe an AL team would be more comfortable with him at first or DH, but who gives a horsefeathers if he is going to hit upwards of 50 dongs? It's not a guy to just give away. Everyone else keeps calling for the Cubs to trade him, but nobody seems willing to pony up. So get the horsefeathers out of here.
