I've only heard the pirates local crew for games against the cubs this year, so take a lot of losing into consideration, but it seems like these guys have such a depressed tone to their voices all the time. Might just be me.

they're just mad that the Cubs aren't "home grown"

I've been sick all week with a fever that has been between 100-102. anyways, felt better today so i went to the grocery store and the "book guy/stocking books" was ripping off covers off the books (why?) and after i picked up something in the frozen isle he noticed my Bryant Cubs sheersy. He asked if I was as a Cubs fan and i told him the biggest one I know.

We talked for a bit and he was originally from Chicago and a huge Cubs fan himself. Said he had been to Wrigley 100 times and I told him if daycare wasn't so GD expensive I would be there this summer but would get there ASAP. Anyway, that's the end of my lame story but it's so rare around here to find anyone that is passionate about baseball - much less the Cubs. Occasionally you will find a Braves fan but they have all went into hibernation this year with being terrible and all. Just wanted to share.

Don't even care about the elevated pitch counts. He's a boss, is in God-mode, and he'll figure that stuff out in time. I was just worried we might not see him in complete God-mode this year. And then there are some minor concerns with his release point being a little higher. But, he's just so good. He'll iron any issues out.

Nice come back for Arrieta but he needs some low pitch innings so we don't have to rely on our bullpen that much today.

or just score a few more runs because the cubs bullpen isn't that bad.

This is actually similar to the DBacks weird game. Striking out most batters, but batting .500 on balls in play.

it's been 2 innings and 2 hits. i'd give it a little more than that before i compared it to that game.

If Joe Maddon was Clint Hurdle someone on the pirates would be beaned in the head next inning. Edited by weis21

3 innings, and I'm just saying I am seeing similarities, high pitch count, lots of k's (which are related), and what few balls are put into play are finding holes at a high percentage for hits.
