Maybe Reinsdorf is senile and he figures the Bulls can 2005 White Sox-their way to a championship.

Lebron could get hurt and we could get lucky. We aren't gonna beat the Warriors, though, that's for sure.

Although, I swear, we pretty much don't deserve another chance after 2014-2015 against the Cavs. We had every opportunity in the universe and still blew it.

butler isn't exactly a bad 3 point shooter btw...just isn't a great one. he's good. wade and rondo, on the other hand... but wade has at least never had a PER lower than 20 in his career. he still knows how to be efficient.

Jimmy shot 31% from 3 last year. The league average from 3 was 35.4%.

He did shoot 37% the year before though so I'd say "average" is a better term that "good"

Calderon to the Lakers.

Which Bull had a better Bulls career between Andrew Bynum and Jose Calderon?

I'm gonna go with Calderon, because it's so rare for an NBA player to be named Jose.

So, the best news is that we apparently get to keep Taj Gibson. At least, salary-wise. Who knows if we end up moving him in another deal. I'm not sure if we're rebuilding or not.

We're flinging poo at the wall and hoping it sticks. We're not rebuilding.

lol that's exactly what "rebuilding" in the nba would be, only with a much higher chance of being terrible

this is a weird team... butler is very very good, wade has been good up until now, lopez is good, rondo was good last year, but none of them really fit basketball wise, especially with what the coach supposedly wants to do. i have no idea what to expect. i could see an absolute disaster and i could see like 50 wins.

mcdermott and mirotic have shown flashes of being solid nba rotational players and at other times have looked awful...hopefully they keep getting better and it's more of the former.

could be brutally awful to watch with a lack of spacing or fun to watch if the lineups are staggered properly and we get enough shooting on the floor in spots

mirotic will really, really need to step up his outside shooting

We obviously disagree on the rebuild. This'll be interesting, no doubt. And yeah, I'm not sure whether this is a 30 win team or a 50 win team. If it misses completely, we'll see a rebuild though.

We have two guys who would be considered floor stretching perimeter 4s in Niko and Doug. Maybe they can find a way to add a shooter.

Niko was decent from the 3 with the most ridiculously useless inept offensive sets ever run by an NBA offense. With a somewhat competent PG and Wade I think Niko will look better. More good looks hopefully for Doug.

Yeah... what's weird is that for the past few years, the Bulls have been this team of misfits that were good individually, but didn't fit together. We rid ourselves of Rose, Noah, and Gasol... and then go right back to making the team awkward again. I guess it should be no surprise.

I'm honestly super excited about the move. Like I said before, I just really didn't want to watch the Bulls tank. This might be a total disaster, but I am anxious to watch and find out. If we can be at least kinda good, I'll be happy.

We have discussed this I think before but a rebuild doesn't really exist in the NBA. The better and more accurate way to say "rebuild" in the current NBA is "not have multiple bad, expensive long term contracts on the books" and in the sense the Bulls are rebuilding because we don't have any of those.

See, that's another thing. This is only a two year deal, so we aren't even really disrupting our little "retool". The only downside is our draft picks won't be quite as high. Rondo's deal is only guaranteed for one year, so we have flexibility there. I really do think Wade will be able to help attract another max player in 2017 if the Bulls don't suck this year.

I think it'll be fun. I see a 50-win/4th seed type of team. Wade can still play. Butler can obviously play. Rondo will play if he thinks he has a chance to win or get more money in the future.

this feels like a team i might throw together in nba2k but realize i hate it and start over because the spacing and what not would be so odd

Considering we can go into next year without Rondo or Wade, I can't argue that. But a rebuild, in my mind, constitutes adding the picks and young guys obviously. Let's face it, if those guys aren't here next season, its likely Jimmy won't be either.

Extremely wide range of outcomes now, which makes for entertainment.

Something I haven't seen anybody mention: the prospect of Lebron and Wade going head to head in the playoffs, both playing for their home teams.

See, GarPax did have the right idea here in a certain sense. A series like that is going to sell tickets and get ratings.
