I'm excited that Clifton is going tonight. Of the pitchers that are currently active, I look forward to his outings the most. That will change once Cease heads to Eugene. But, I'm hoping Clifton can put together a strong season.

Really good outing for Clifton to follow up the last start. Granted, both were against Winston-Salem, but the more impressive thing is his lack of walks in either game (at least, so far in this game). Going to be curious to see if this is him turning the corner a tiny bit (because if so, then that's a damn enticing prospect). At the very least, it's good to see his stuff is holding solid at this level.

Clifton's having a pretty solid year. Take a minute and look at Underwood's and his performances through the same levels at the same ages.

Do you still see him as a reliever or has that changed?

Thanks for the clip. What do you pitching-mechanics experts think of Clifton's delivery?

I have no idea, other than that it looks unusual, and possibly not very conducive to consistent control, and perhaps somewhat stressful on the arm. But I have no idea. Perhaps it's also hard for hitters to pick up? Perhaps it's hard to Clifton to throw different pitches with the same delivery, such that hitters can tell what's coming? Anyway, rather interesting and somewhat non-standard, to my super-amateur superficial impression.
