That would make the bench LaStella, Ross, Soler and Baez, assuming they are going with 8 relievers.

Maybe I've just watched way too much MLB Network, but it seems to me that Kawasaki is fairly well known. Not for his play, of course, but he has developed a reputation as one of the best interviews in baseball over the past few years (and one of the best clubhouse presences).

there's nothing crazy about people not knowing him, but he's probably as well known as a fringe MLB player can be. i'm a little surprised that there are posters here who are unaware of him, especially since he's on the cubs now.

 

the clips of him on youtube have a couple million views iirc. i know they have gone a little viral, as friends of mine who have little to no interest in baseball have shown me them over the years.

Again, he's not well known for his play, because he's not good. No, it's not an indictment if you don't know who he is, but it'd be mildly surprising if someone who has watched a lot of national baseball coverage over the past few years hadn't at least heard of him. He's made a name for himself with his personality.

 

But someone hasn't heard of him, they've missed some gold, as his interviews are always amusing.
