I disagree. The Cubs paid a premium for Heywards defense, they should play him where he's had the most success. RF at Wrigley is very tricky, too. I hope he plays a majority of his time there. Scwarbs and Soler both seem like better fits in left.

Yeah, I agree with you even though I don't think anybody else does. Love, love, love being able to put Heyward back where he's become the best at what he does even if he could have been just fine in CF.

I would have guessed that it'd be Soler in RF, Heyward in CF, Schwarber in LF with Fowler picking up ABs at all three positions as the others get off days, against tough RHP, and when Schwarber catches. Soler as a roamer makes much less sense. People are assuming this makes Dexter the everyday CF, but I'm not buying that.

I do feel bad for Javy though. I mean he can still be used, but not nearly as much now. If they trade him, what can we expect in terms of value on a return? Or will he just be stashed in AAA?

a liiiiitle worried about the lack of regular plate appearances for soler being the death of him. between being the short side of a platoon and his lack of positional flexibility, i hope he doesn't just get completely squeezed out.

So assuming that the 5 million dollar buyout is triggered no matter which side declines the option, was that a way to basically have an agreement that he wouldn't be given a qualifying offer, as it would cost the Cubs more than $20 million to bring him back for one season? Or am I off?

i think/hope maddon will be able to find him enough PAs, especially if he has good at bats and looks like he deserves them.
