It's pure jealousy talking, but this is my least favorite thread on the site. On a number of occasions I've considered changing the topic title to "STH not-so-humblebrag thread".

Just paid for my playoff tickets. I will be attending games 3 & 4 of the World Series, God willing.

Only 3 and 4? What if they accidentally lose a game and have to clinch in game 5?

Then I shall celebrate the victory at a local bar as I won't be able to afford scalper prices. :bye:

Did anyone attend Family Day this year?

This is my 2nd year and I was really disappointed with how they handled it this year. Tickets were broken up into 2 hour sessions, but they required everyone to be out 30 minutes prior to the next session. And even before that, they were pushing people to exit.

Our start time was 12:00, which is when they opened the gates for us to enter. At 1:00, they gave a 30 minute warning, and by 1:15 they were encouraging people to head for the exits. My family tried to take a picture by the outfield wall at about 1:25 and we were told by one employee that the area had "already been secured" and we needed to leave. Thankfully there was another more reasonable employee nearby who took a quick picture for us, but overall the whole event felt very short and rushed.

They really need to re-think the Family Day event and consider who is attending... families with children. By the time we got in the gates, sat down and ate our food, and took my son to the bathroom, there was very little time left to do anything. It should be a more relaxed environment for Season Ticket Holders and not one where we are being pushed out the door less than 90 minutes after arriving, with my 3-year old crying because he only got to play catch in the outfield for a few minutes.

My son took his Cubs shirt and shorts off when we got home and laid them out on the floor saying he was putting them there for next time we go to Wrigley Field. He loved being on the field and it was just disappointing that we didn't get to spend much time there.

I will be sending this feedback to my STH representative, but I was just curious whether anyone else had attended and felt the same way. I know last year had the same 2 hour sessions, but I'm pretty sure we got the full 2 hours and weren't being hounded to leave. There must be a better way to handle this event, maybe extend the sessions to 3 hours or make them "come and go as you please".

Not sure if this is the right spot but for all of you fellow non season ticket holder peons, you can now register for the postseason ticket lottery at cubs.com

Why not just make a thread for that?

I'm sure it'll go unnoticed by many of said peons in here.

Has anyone received their playoff tickets yet?

I haven't heard a peep.

I hope they don't go the Blackhawks route for you guys. All electronic tickets.

Wouldn't really bother me that much, but I doubt it. I haven't heard or seen anything yet even electronically, though.

My dad's friend in the 80's had season tickets and had unused stubs for the 84 and 89 World Series, wasn't worth much but he framed them and gave them to me for a birthday present. I'd think If they won the WS this year they would be valuable if you printed off the electronic ones and kept the paper ones in mint condition.

I emailed my rep yesterday about it. I'm leaving town Saturday morning to take my kids to Disney World (Back before game 1 though!). Really need to get them before them before I leave town. I believe you have to sign for the package, so it makes it a pain if you aren't going to be around.

I wasn't given anything but "they will be mailed this week and you will receive the tracking #."

Last year I received the tickets and then an email with the tracking number the next day.

7:30 last night I received an email stating they would start shipping them out today and the last would be shipped out by Saturday. Tracking email will be sent when the package is shipped.

Same. They're also up on the website now.

I got that e-mail as well.

I haven't even received the e-mail with tracking info yet.

My email came on Saturday.

It was in my Junk folder which is weird because no other e-mails from the Cubs get filtered to there.
