My favorite Cubs broadcaster, Jack Brickhouse, would have been 100 years old today. His excitement and optimism became the foundation of my philosophy as a Cubs fan. His way of keeping you on the edge of your seat, even during the leaner years for the Cubs, was and is unsurpassed.

"Ready now!"

"Any ol' kind of a run wins it!"

And, of course, the classic home run call, "Hey, Hey!"

Happy Birthday, Jack.

Peoria, Represent!

I'm formerly Peoria. That's all the representin' it needs!

But, loved listening to Brickhouse. Geez I'm old.

Peoria to San Diego? God damn that's one hell of an upgrade.

Only 30 min away from Peoria here...and man, I'd take that upgrade in a hot second.

literally the only thing (aside from the people i have here...mainly family) that i'd miss about moving somewhere like that is being able to see the Cubs at wrigley. don't care about going to bulls games and i never go to football games. yeah, there's good restaurants and bars but other places have those too.

You aren't going to beat Chicago's quantity-quality of restaurants combo unless you move to SF or NYC. Maayyyyybe LA.
