you apparently measure the magnitude of your cheers, so who's the weirdo now?

Once I ran at least 3 laps around the inside of a B-Dubs after a Hester return.

Some of those Joniak calls on the Hester TDs give me goosebumps.

"Gets a block from Ayenbedejo....slices two...now three Vikings. Tears em up at the 20.....Hester to the 40.....There is nothing, and I mean nothing but Kentucky bluegrass in front of him!......Touchdown Bears!"

Yes. 4.35 in the 40 at his pro day. Very athletic.

I ask Michael, who's famously critical of the league's overpaid passers, what he thinks of Jay Cutler.

"Worst quarterback in the NFL," he says.

"I'd be open and he'd throw into double coverage," says Martellus, who spent the past three seasons as Cutler's teammate in Chicago.

Martellus: "Eli? He's cool. He's like a normal white guy you see at the park trying to teach his kids how to play soccer and you know he can't really play soccer himself."

First fight of Bears camp today. Such intensity!

first?

You know, I questioned that when I wrote it. First one I'd seen tweeted about....maybe missed others.... whoops.

it's like bennett wanted to do one more thing to officially cement me being completely sick of him

This. It's not like he had a career year in catches/yards/TDs under Jay or anything.

Man, the bears could really use a guy like, say.....Matt Slauson.

Seriously. I don't even know who else plays center. This would be a particularly damaging injury for the Bears if he's gone for the year.

Well, the good news is that interior OL is one of the few positions where there are some capable options still out there in free agency. Louis Vasquez is somehow still unsigned. He's 29 with 100+ starts under his belt, including starting and winning the Superbowl last year. He's a big boy who isn't super mobile, so he may not be considered a great fit for the Bears offense. He's similar in size to Slauson who was considered not a fit, but like Slauson, Vasquez has experience in this offense as he played under Gase in Denver for a couple years.

too bad ramirez retired too. i remember thinking we had a lot of depth in the interior. then slauson got dumped and ramirez retired.

grasu kind of sucked and i didn't expect him to be good this year (although he, of course, might've) so it's not that big a loss as long as we can get someone serviceable in there.

Jay Cutler has taken calls from approximately six thousand different offensive coordinators since the Bears traded for him, yet the front office continues to wonder why he can’t stay consistent.

We let every single halfway decent player walk or we trade them away the instant they don’t seem happy with the team’s shittiness. I seriously just had to Google whether Alshon Jeffery was still on the team.

Nobody will ever shut the horsefeathers up about 1985.

The only thing that brings me joy in football anymore is seeing the Packers lose.

It's been a horsefeathers organization for a long time now. I don't know if I could ever actually bail, but let's just say the temptation shows up quite regularly these days.
