if last two are in, plus huber that makes 12 (has anybody contacted bukie to see if he's reinterested?)

I mentioned awhile back in the old board that I am in for 2016. Contraction is better than trying to fill teams imo just for the sake of filling teams. Fewer teams, more focused owners.

MR - do you not want to be commish any longer? If you're keeping that position, can you make a decision here?

My personal position is that I like the challenge of the 16 team league if we can find enough good owners. We seem to have enough people interested, but they may not be once they read the rules in detail or see the state of the teams they would take over. I'd suggest that since we'll be adding multiple managers one way or another that we allow the new managers to pick teams in the order in which they expressed interest in joining.

If we are contracting, we have to figure out if there are any incomplete trades where draft compensation needs to be accounted for.

...if I'm taking over an especially horrific team, can I get some sandwich picks or something? Jk (kind of)

Speaking for myself, I'm decent at this fantasy thing and I'm fairly excited about the rule set up, but this is a LOT more involved than was advertised and I don't know if all of the new possible recruits will be as jazzed about it. Btw, in the rules sticky I missed what that stat set up is. 5x5 standard? Points?

UK is returning, I believe. I mean, we've been talking trade so I assume he's still in.

Don't think that's my call. I'd prefer like 14 but that's just me

Well, lets see how many of the volunteers want to stick with it after seeing the complexity of the rules here.

It's a point system. I'll get you visibility to the league site today.

okay, here's the message I sent out to the people interested...

I've added you all as co-owners for my team so that you can see the teams with vacant owners. You should all have access to the forum here called "Roadkill" that lays out the rules and such. If everyone sticks with it, we'll have 16 teams. I think the fairest way to let you gents pick the teams is to go by the order in which you expressed interest in joining. That would be:

mhuber

cubbie swagger

philosophizer

diceman

After seeing everything, let me know if you're all still interested. If not, we may have to back down to a fourteen team league.

If everyone sticks with it, then we'll have 16. If one person bails, we'll have to figure something out. If two bail, we'll go with 14.

We need to set a keeper date and a draft date.

I guess I'll wait to see what the other guys decide, but I checked out one of those teams that would be taken over (the one that scored the least points last year)...and I think you'd be better off just blowing up at least that team and contracting. It looks like it is Giolito, Lucroy and a pile of garbage.

Um, I think that's UK's team. He's still around. He tanked last year to get the #1 draft pick. It's a common strategy with mixed results.

I will be in but will check out the teams shortly. I am assuming to pick from the 5 labeled out above?

When you go to the site, I've labeled the four teams up for grabs as "vacant"

you guys have read the rules, on the cbs page, here, and the several threads in the archives that include rules and explanation, and finally the unwritten rules, right?

I think we first need to get the managers assigned to teams and give them a little time to ask questions since the rules are even less clear. did we ever confirm that bob and navin are staying in?

Then we can open up trading, which isn't currently open, and set a keeper deadline and a draft date.

not able to see the archive page and CBS tells me that the league is private and I am not allowed in anymore

when I made you manager of the other team, it sent you a new invite.
