They are probably paying him well to sign autographs, take photos, and be a one on one instructor (which he always had high marks for doing). It will be great for old guys like me, who grew up as Sandberg as their favorite player, to take in games with their kids and share stories, etc etc etc (insert martinez / palmeiro here).
