List of Cubs slumping going into the final week:

Fowler

Schwarber

Rizzo

Soler

Russell

Coghlan

Jackson

List of Cubs hitting well:

Bryant

Castro

Neither:

Baez

Montero

Does this sound about right?

I really don't think it's worth worrying about. The Cubs lead MLB in runs in September (at least up until a few days ago - haven't checked since). They'll either have a good or bad day in the WC game. It's that simple. After that anything is possible.

Dunno if this has been asked yet, but why are there so many Royals fans?

I've been wondering that myself. Seems really odd for a September weeknight that was rescheduled(especially with the Chiefs on MNF at Lambeau), but I guess if you paid for a ticket and could re-work plans, you probably would with this Royals team.

I hear ya. Not super concerned, was mostly checking to see if my observations were correct and don't feel like looking up last 7/last 14 splits

Because AL fans always flock to Wrigley when they play us in interleague games. Schedule comes out; see Wrigley; circle the date.

That looked closer on replay than it was in real time.

They have a 3 game series with the White Sox starting tomorrow.

This makes the most sense.

Err you realize this is a makeup game right? lol

I think the White sox thing is most logical. Possibly also royals fans who bought tickets to the game rained out and decided to come back for the game

haha. yeah i was too lazy too which is why i gave the blanket "not worth worrying about" answer (but I do believe that). Off the top of my head and totally spitballing, I'd say Schwarber, Soler, Rizzo (?) probably haven't been that cold. Perhaps some others, too. Honestly they've run into some really good pitching. But, that isn't really much of an excuse going into the playoffs.

Way late here, but how does a ML ump blow that obvious call.

You've caused me to not want to actually look up the numbers and instead ask others to

lol Escobar actively avoided 2nd base and did not get remotely out of the way of the runner
