not blaming these SBs are montero, but when's the last time he didn't bounce a ball to 2nd?

That one was 100% on him. Slow release and bad, bad throw.

Peraza was halfway to first when he pulled that back

It's great that Lester can throw 6+ solid innings and all, but if there's anyone that thinks teams taking free bases on him isn't going to be a huge problem in the playoffs, they're delusional.

I swear I will ban you from game threads forever if you don't knock it off with this.

This is painfully true. It's mind boggling how a pitcher so good can have such an Achilles heel.

He gave up one stolen base this inning(that was 100% on Montero), and that runner still required 2 singles to score.

Why's it obnoxious? Lester's been living on the outer half the plate all inning and guys are going with the pitch. His First Base Yips and the fact that it's so widely known and easily exploitable is a killer.

offense is the bigger reason for the losing streak. We should be up big in this one considering the caliber of pitchers we faced tonight so far. 6 runs in 4 games isn't going to cut it.

Welcome back, Cubs of early July.

Christ, can we earn more than one run off of Mat [expletive] Latos? (The balked run doesn't count).

I'm not sure getting shut down by two of the best pitchers in the game back-to-back counts as a slumping offense. What's no fun is these [expletive] West Coast trips.

Sucks that if we don't win tonight we will have lost the absolute maximum number of games over the last 4 days to the 3 teams we care about. 4 to the Pirates and 3 each to the Giants and Cardinals.

Yeah but getting shut down by Peavy and Latos isn't all that good
