Russell has not looked good tonight. His kid is likely ashamed of him

nah

Ok I'll admit I forgot about that. But the DP, the K with a runner on third and the botched force out that scored a run also happened.

Yeah, this is only one game. But if lose to Bumgarner and Kershaw, there's a chance we're only 4.5 games up by Saturday.

This is why it's so important to gain as much ground as possible on the Giants when they could. Even if it meant rooting for the Cardinals

the cubs have a better chance of catching the cardinals than the giants do of catching them (ok that might swing after today but it still illustrates what a [expletive] moron you are)

even if we lose this game and tomorrow's, we only lost 1 game to the giants in their park, while 3 games ticked off the schedule. not getting swept was the most important thing.

This game would be far less annoying if St. Louis would EVER [expletive] LOSE A GAME

With the Cardinals, all you can do is shake your fist at God. No team has any right to play at a 100 win pace with all the injuries they've had.

Should we start taking bets on what unsustainable luck the Cardinals will carry all next season?

And we'd still be up 5 in the loss column. There is no such thing as half games.

We are up 8 games in the loss column on them and they're playing the dodgers right after U.S. :banghead:

Exactly. Although this one was winnable.

Anyone know what Schwarbers splits were like in the minors?

He's struck out in 52% of his 43 ABs against lefties in the majors (though he does have 2 HRs and some walks)

Also, the raucous cheering of the Giants fans is irrationally pissing me off.

Yeah stop being loud when your team does something well

he said irrationally. Lord knows this is something that you should understand.

Well they've had a record hitting with RISP season and now they're having a record pitching with RISP season. What else can they possibly come up with?

I can't believe that as we stand here in late August 8 games ahead in the loss column to the closest wild card competitor, that there are people talking about the wild card with concern.

I'm not saying that teams have never blown a 7.5 game lead over a 40 game span, just that it's not worth worrying about on a day to day basis until it gets a good bit closer

Eventually Satan will collect his debt from them and we will win the Central every year
