Last night was the Cubs first win on a Friday since May 15th

 

The CUBS are 5-12 (.294) on Fridays. If the CUBS didn't have to play on Friday, they'd be 50-35 (.588).

I love Schwarbs but Montero has a place on this team. Gotta make it work.

Honestly I wish Lester gave up his David Ross blankie and we could do without another extreme hole in the lineup with him

Yeah, backup catcher. Blast Ross out of a cannon.

 

Ross can be with Lester. Montero/Schwarbs can split the other 4. Schwarber playing LF some too

 

Ross can go step on a landmine; he's completely redundant. Let Montero have the backup/mentor role and don't bounce Schwarber between defensive roles. What's Lester going to do, refuse to pitch? Besides, Montero's bat had been steadily declining before he got hurt, so it's not like he's a hitter they've got to make room for.

-0.4 RAA, so pretty middle of the road. Not a bad sign, but considering framing is a (relative) strength of his and he's looked pretty rough in other aspects, it's not exactly something to cling to.

I wish after his last concussion ross negotiated keeping his salary and becoming a bench coach

I'd have agreed with this more before Lester went beast mode his last start.

 

Lester can still have Montero; I highly doubt Ross made any kind of real difference if you're comparing him and Miguel.

He posted a 2.35 ERA in Oakland without Ross. Ross is a blankie, nothing more
