I feel as though the start of the AZL season has been very much glossed over. And I get that now that we have a big league team, it's not as easy (or necessary) to keep up with the low levels. But there are a handful of notable-ish guys on fbe roster.

 

Carlos A. Rodriguez who's owned the DSL and VSL but didn't fare so well in his AZL stint a few years back.

 

Dylan Cease

 

Rehabbing Trey Masek and Scott Frazier

 

Marcelo Carrano, who we acquired for Jeff Baker and is apparently still around

 

Wladimir Galindo, who was pretty impressive in his first pro season last year

 

2011 1.6MM IFA catcher Mark Malave, now a pitcher. He's only 20, so who knows.

 

And a handful of other DSL mainstays, Ronny Alcala, Jenner Emmetario, Roberto Caro, and Jose "Not to be Confused with Juan Paniaqua" Paniagua.

Yep. The big three prospects in Mesa are Cease, Moreno and Galindo, in that order.

 

Austyn Willis is probably a better prospect than any of the other guys WSR listed too.

Anybody know what's happened with Turner? he hasn't pitched in a box-score game since the previous weekend, and got skipped in the Tennesee rotation. Did he perhaps do some throwng in a cage during a rain day? Or perhaps have a setback of some sort?

I was thinking about that yesterday. Hope it's a matter of scheduling and not a setback, especially given tonight's results.
