He generally uses his low-90s fastball, which he throws as a four-seamer and a two-seamer, as more of a weak-contact pitch rather than a strikeout pitch given its late, heavy sink. However, he can dial it up to the mid-90s on occasion, and it is certainly capable of getting whiffs at that speed.

In terms of secondary stuff, Gibson certainly has the ability to strike out hitters. His plus slider is a swing-and-miss pitch when it is on, but it can be inconsistent at times. He has gotten a better feel for it, however, and it has gotten continually more consistent as he has gotten more experience.

His above-average to fringe-plus changeup is also capable of getting swings and misses when needed. His curveball is more of a show-me pitch that he rarely throws, but it can still get the occasional swing and miss because the pitch is his slowest and hitters are rarely expecting it.
