Mark Zaguins took the first pitch he saw deep. He's now OPSing .906 on the year and 1.003 in June.

Edit: make that two home runs for Zagunis tonight. He's at 5 on the year.

I'm quite surprised Zagunis is still at MB after the Schwarber promotion. Tennessee's outfield is all actual prospects, so even if they don't want to demote the struggling Hannemann, you'd think they could all get AB's by rotating playing the outfield and DH'ing.

Happ is batting 3rd and playing CF, not 2B. Interesting.

Delarosa is at 2B for Eugene, so it might be a matter of fitting the best players together most simply. Especially since I imagine Happ will not be long for Eugene.

If anyone's at all interested, Mike Olt's on the Smokies roster. Not sure what to do with him. But he's there.

He's on a rehab assignment.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to follow. I mentioned it back in the draft thread, but the Cubs seemed to be really pushing how fast he timed for them in his private workout which gave me a hunch they might try him in CF. It's not like it would take much of an adjustment to slide him to LF if it doesn't work out (unless they try the 2B route).

Steele through 4IP: 0H 2BB 7K

He also has 2 errors, both on attempted 3-1 plays. Weird.

I know. What I meant is what to do with him when said rehab assignment comes to an end. I suppose his bat is better than those currently on our bench.

Happ finished 1-5 with a K.

btw, Alex Jackson was recently demoted to the Northwest League and played against Happ tonight. Kyle Schwarber is in the Major Leagues.

If Zagunis moves to Tennessee soon and is solid there, why isn't he a top 100 guy?

I don't see why not. He's basically been a better version of Brandon Nimmo and he's consistently in top 100s

This same conversation was about McKinney several weeks ago, and he's two years younger. And though McKinney has hit at AA, he hasn't put on the show he did at MB.

My point is that it's all moot until he gets to AA and does hit. And with Almora, McKinney, and Hanneman occupying the OF, none of whom appear up for promotion or demotion, I'm thinking it's going to be a while until we find out. Unless they decide to skip him a grade, which isn't impossible, as he is over a year older than Almora and a year and a half older than McKinney. And it's not like there's anyone in Iowa who's going to block him.
