Coming into today's game, Gleyber Torres had hit safely in 24 of the previous 30 games dating back to April 22nd hitting .368/.438/.465 during that span. In the 6 games he didn't get a hit, he reached base in 4 of them.

With a single in his first AB today, he's now 25 out of 31, reaching base in 29 of those games.

If Torres was a quick-twitch, bonafide SS, he'd likely be a top 25 prospect with room to move up into the top 10 in the coming years, but the sense I have of him from the scouting reports is that he lacks that kind of athleticism. He's a smooth, natural middle infielder for sure. My concern is that he's more La Stella than Lindor. Am I off?

There is wide gap between LaStella and Lindor.

He's super advanced. Just without truly standout tools. I could see the upside being Starlin.

Starlin with plate discipline.

Down 2-0 in the bottom of the ninth, Szczur selfishly hits a three run home run with Javy on deck.

Also, I'm sure it has happened, but I don't remember opening an myrtle beach box score this year and seeing Zagunis with no walks.

I wonder why Schwarber was out of the lineup tonight didnt even pinch hit

Catchers get days off.

When he doesn't catch, he sometimes gets the day off entirely, sometimes DH's. But AA only has dh games in AL parks.

Even if he's splitting time between the two with the wear and tear catching puts on the body he's gonna need a day off here and there

That's my concern...

My point is he doesn't need to be as good an athlete as Lindor to play good SS and retain elite prospect value. Torres likely falls in the wide gap between LaStella and Lindor.
