Apparently making above 70% contact, though I'm still not sure where to find those numbers.

I'm still new to the contact % business. What is generally considered bad/average/good for that?

League average is a tick below 80. It generally runs from 70 to 90, although occasionally guys exist just a bit outside that range for awhile.

Best guess is rest. It's his 3rd game in 2 days(although only 2nd behind the plate), it was already 7-0, and the temp was in the mid 90s with heat index in triple figures.

Arizona Phil has the VSL Cubs roster: http://thecubreporter.com/05172015/your-2015-vsl-cubs

Four of the twelve players receiving six-figure signing bonuses from the Cubs during the 2014-15 ISP have been assigned to the VSL Cubs, including LHP Emilio Ferrebus ($250K signing bonus), LHP Riger Fernandez ($200K signing bonus), SS Francisco Garay ($200K signing bonus), and SS Rafael Narea ($150K signing bonus).

If recent history is to be followed, it means it's time for a new thread in the Transactions forum.
