I feel like they have missed a lot of hittable pitches today. I hope that's a "that's baseball sometimes" thing and not something that indicates a problem.

They've also had a truckload of balls be called strikes too, especially on strike 3

I thought this game couldn't get any worse, then I realized Denorfia has a Nickleback song for his walk-up.

I fully expect to see Herrera and Lake starting tomorrow.

Oh c'mon, there's no reason to sit one of Russell, Castro, or Bryant for the light-hitting Herrera against a hittable pitcher when the wind figures to be blowing out again. Pretty much everyone looked bad today; Jonathan Herrera won't fix that.

Welp... the Pirates have left 18 men on base through 11 innings in St. Louis, so there's that.

And Matt Carpenter of the .397 BABIP coming into today won the game for them.

I really hate those fucks.

Am I reading this right? A batter scored on a grounder to Castro?

Yes, Castro made a poor throw and Rizzo couldn't pick it. Rizzo didn't think the runner would try for 3rd so he stopped and slowly picked it up, and when he realized what happened he threw to 3rd, where Bryant as inexplicably 10 feet from the base, enabling Schafer to easily score.
