Already. And, something has taken place that I thought I might never see...

...they have 71 walks, good for fourth in the NL despite playing two fewer games than two teams in front of them. But maybe the statistic the front office likes the best is the number of pitches per plate appearance the Cubs are seeing. They rank first in the National League seeing 3.91 every time they step in the batter's box...

Wilson had 27 points earlier in the week. Teheran had 27 today. But Weaver had -7 and Shields had -2 later on today. Both had about the same starting time.

If the rule is the high start of the week, then I will win.

If the rule is the best start of the last day, then I will win.

If the rule is the last start, then which pitcher do you choose? I think Wilson and Shields started at the same today. But since they both had negative points, tragic would win.

Commish...What say yee?

I'm in favor of changing that rule to just eliminate the 8th start as soon as possible. In the other league you get 3 strikes. You do it 3 times and you lose your best one next time

if there are two at the same time to push you past the limit just take the worse of the two starts; makes a lot more sense than expunging the best start for no real reason

I feel like 365 points is good

the rule is you lose your best start of the week.

you can't go by start times because the 7th/8th start could start at the same time. can't do the three strike thing because it's a pain in the ass.

then why not just keep the worse of the 7th/8th starts, seems more judicious than throwing down a huge penalty just for the hell of it

it's not some huge penalty for the hell of it. it makes sense. The limit is 7 starts. If you use more than 7, you lose your best starts. That's a perfectly logical penalty for exceeding the limit. Sometimes it costs a team a win, sometimes it doesn't.

I took away 27 points from truffle.

why not just not go over the 7 start limit?
