Balfour seems like a better option for being a stopgap guy.

 

eh. He's a bit older and was pretty bad last year and has been looking pretty crappy this year.

Balfour does appear to be toast, unfortunately. His velocity in 2013, his last good season, was sitting around 93.3. It was 91.6 last year. It's 89.7 this year so far.

Balfour missed some of spring training this year due a death in the family which might have affected his velocity out of the gate.
