Drove 17 hours into Baja, Mexico. There really isn't a "shoulder" along the side of the road. It's more like a trench. Windy roads with no room for error, and all kinds of motor vehicles that would be illegal on US roads= recipe for disaster. The memorials along the side of the road throughout our travel was a constant reminder not to take your eyes off the road, even for a second.
