Ohh yeah, 2002, the year we were coming off of the total mirage that was 2001

wasn't that year just ravaged by injuries though?

man i remember i was at work riding high while we were up like 20-0 on the saints on our way to 3-0...then we managed to blow that game and somehow finish 4-12 lmao.

only other things i remember about that year are morningweg being a moron and electing to kick in OT getting our first win in ages and henry burris doing disastrous things against the bucs

oh and the GB mnf game obv

2001 was so fun.

i liken it to the 98 cubs. it was fun but a total lightning in a bottle thing compared to 03, 07-08 for the cubs and 05-06 for the bears.

still bums me out how we fell off from 06-07.

I know it won't come into play for this game, but I'm scared that if/when Garza is healthy, that the Bears will play him instead of De La Puente.

This isn't baseball. Football coaches in general tend to do a better job of giving jobs to the best option.

What are the chances Brian de la Puente keeps the starting center job after Roberto Garza is healthy? -- @TomOMalley23 from Twitter

De la Puente has played well when you consider the communication needed up front and the fact that the Bears have played two road games against good defenses and held up relatively well. I’d suspect Garza will reclaim his starting job when he is healthy. The Bears certainly have not run the ball effectively the last two weeks and there are no indications at this point the team wants to replace Garza.

We know the Bears look at PFF tho, so that's a plus in this particular case.

They did sign Bushrod in free agency despite PFF not liking him.

I guess I never thought to lay the Bears' running woes at the feet of de la Puente. I would have thought lack of Slauson is more accurate. Ola is terrible, I think we all know that.

They need to replace Garza soon anyway -- seems to me it's a good time to keep someone else in there if he's doing OK.

slauson and playing against some of the best front 7's in the league and actively gameplanning against running

Ratliff out. Marshall, Conte, and Allen all questionable.

Please please play, then take the Carolina game off for all I care. This is Packers week god damnit.

Must have been a pretty bad concussion for Ratliff. Hope he's doing ok.

I worry about Allen...sounds like he's been pretty sick and has been asked to stay away from the team so that no one else gets sick. I could see him missing the game....which might a good thing since he's never won at Soldier Field

You gonna sit him for every home game the rest of the way?

Of course. Except for the Vikings game, we always beat them at Soldier Field

Especially when Allen plays.

I used to memorize the roster every season and I can't name one of those guys.
