So the Cubs have gone 4-2 against the two top teams in the division. That's with no Rizzo, a couple kids getting their Baseball baptisms(Baez/Alcantara)and some other kid named Bryant who was told to take his ball and go home for the year.

Oh, this Soler is pretty good.

Valbuena has really shown up this year. if it wasn't for some guy named Kris Bryant, he might just be the everyday 3rd baseman for a few years. Is there anyway we can keep Luis Valbuena?

Need to go 10-13 the rest of the way to finish with under 90 losses. Seems very doable, especially if Rizzo and Castro can make it back in the lineup. I love it.

Could his price and skillset make sense for a valuable backup/pinch hitter?

It's pretty clear to me that we do what we can to keep him on our team. He's at 2.5 WAR right now after about 450 PAs. His positional versatility is going to make him a fine backup.

Yeah that would be sweet, but I'm thinking the more likely scenario is that other teams will want him for an everyday role and he'll want to get traded.

No he doesn't.

Not according to this article....

The two sides will have 48.5 hours from the moment of the claim in order to work out a trade. Any 40-man roster players to change hands in a theoretical deal would also need to clear waivers. If and when the two sides decide that a deal cannot be reached, the Phillies can simply pull Hamels back off waivers. Hamels’ contract does allow him to block trades to 20 teams, but as ESPN’s Jayson Stark reported earlier today, the Cubs are not one of those 20 clubs. So, in the unlikely event that a deal is agreed upon, Hamels would have no say in vetoing the transaction.

I didn't know that...thanks

Sorry if I came off like an ass, I was watching the game and didn't even think about what I was typing.

castro is dead because stupid wellington castillo told him to get down on a ball that got cut off.

See, David?

i don't get it

Castillo harpooned Colvin with the bat, nearly got Soler the other day, and now he tried to kill Castro. David said he was harmless.

I didn't say he was harmless. I said he had only harmed Colvin successfuly, which was a good thing.
