Randy Wells.

Wells was never highly regarded (IIRC) and was clearly pitching over his head.

No, he was actually decent but got hurt and was never the same. Never great, but a solid back end guy who lost some velocity after the injury and demonstrated how thin the line between success and failure is in MLB.

Forgive me, I tried my hardest to avoid our farm system up until Theo/Jed came.

I know we aren't supposed to compare him to the Maddux.

But can we call him "Mad poodle" at least?

Do you keep thick onion gravy in your backseat?

I've been reading Derek Johnson's book the last week or so and then I watch Hendricks in these last couple starts and it's the manifestation of a lot of chapters. He talks about skill guys vs. ability guys and Hendricks is obviously a skill guy who owns his stuff, trusts what he has and then competes his ass off. He's been fun to watch.

Onions give me heartburn, so no.

In 7 years, across competition levels he's only thrown 44 pitches to LH hitters?

I'm going to guess those are just MLB pitches, and the time frame was just set that way by default.

Really nice to see him get things done out there. He has great command. Keeps guys off-balance with all his pitches; paints the corners; induces a ton of weak ground-outs with all his good, downward movement. Just great to see. He needs pinpoint command and great control to succeed, and he has shown both. That change-up is a nice out-pitch, too. Big fan over here.

Are we still gonna need BandWGNs when the new TV deal is signed?

BandMLTICST doesn't quite have the same ring to it...
