With Ramirez in Iowa, who would you take in one game as the favorite:

Iowa Cubs starting Kyle Hendricks (I know, he's not on them anymore)

vs.

Chicago Cubs starting Travis Wood (a bad lefty going up against all those RH power hitters)

C Castillo Lopez

1B Rizzo Olt

2B Bonifacio Watkins

SS Castro Javy

3B Valbuena KB

LF Ruggiano Szczur

CF Alcantara Brett

RF Schierholtz Soler

If they played 20 games and it was Wood/Hendricks each time, I'd go 13-7 or 12-8 for the major league team.

If it was Jackson/Hendricks, 18-2 for I-Cubs

How serious can the injury be if this is being talked about?

@CSNMooney: GM Hoyer says Cubs haven't made decision re: stretching Neil Ramirez out as a starter, but says they're "happy with his work as a reliever."

Of course Sahadev Sharma has a vaguer quote:

@sahadevsharma: Hoyer says they haven't talked through whether they'd extend Ramirez/Grimm & make them starters. Maybe something they revisit in offseason

If it was a serious injury I would expect the response to such a question to be something to the effect of we haven't made a decision.

Why would there be any discussions about Grimm as a starter. He's been awful for quite awhile now.

Well, TIL that you wouldn't want to convert a successful reliever.

Because Neil Ramirez is really comparable to Aroldis Chapman.

Perhaps more innings and regular work would help improve his command?
