I saw Jake Hannemann play on Thursday at the Quad Cities. The dude can fly. He has got to be the fastest player in the Cubs system. He is a player to keep in mind.

He's 23, so he has to start flying up the minor league levels. He needs to get on base more often.

It would be really cool if he had something like a .390 OBP since the beginning of June, along with an OPS over .930.

Oh, wait...

It's cool, but he needs to start doing it at higher levels.

I do not disagree.

and for more than a month

His performance actually started to turn in mid-may. Over the last 56 days he's at: .317/.371/.479/.850

Still arbitrary end points. Still capturing the numbers to look as good as possible (he was 0-16 or so before that). But for a guy that was drafted as a raw athlete, it is certainly encouraging that the numbers are going in the right direction. If he keeps it up a bit longer, I'd imagine he'll get the boost to Daytona so he can hang out at the hotel during rainouts.

Speaking of older guys who've had strong recent performances at Kane County, Juan Paniagua definitely could use a promotion to Daytona.
