I was at the time #3 on season ticket waitlist, so that Saturday night the Bears called and asked if I wanted to buy two tickets in the north end zone so of course I took them. Some idiot Bear fan was taunting a 12 year old in the bathroom, so I guess it can go both ways.

Damn, first year of my life (other than college) living in a non-NHL city. This is terrible.

 

Hopefully can catch a Hawks game when I'm up there for Christmas, and going to Montreal for a game in February.

 

And the Blues are playing a preseason game here. Lame.

That's every female Packers fan ever. FWIW, I believe it would be the NFC's turn for the "late" championship game this year so potentially could have games at the exact same time. Guessing Hawks get moved to earlier if that's the case.

 

I checked 3 or 4 sites and it said that the NFC was the 2pm game. Last year the Niners/Seahawks were the late game, so I'm inclined to believe the sites I saw.

They really haven't expanded far into the KS side yet, which is where we wanted to be. But I figured we could stomach Time Warner for 8-9 months. I hope they hurry up though because TWC is terrible.

So Kevin Hayes apparently had no interest in signing with the Hawks for whatever reason, probably because he thought he wouldn't get any playing time in the near future. He's probably right about that. So he became a UFA, and today he signed with the Rangers. Hawks are victims of success and depth here, I suppose, though there was speculated that Hayes felt like the Hawks jerked his brother around before trading him. So who knows.

That seems to be the obvious reason, no? He can get on the ice much sooner. Can't really blame him for that.

On the other hand, considering that they will have to trade someone this season and likely someone else next season, there will be spots opening up. If he can't beat out Mark McNeil for that spot than yes, he is better off somewhere else. I'm not sure if he can make the Rangers roster without at least some time in the AHL.

 

I can't claim to know but if he really thinks they mistreated his brother he is dumb. Hayes got his chances with the Hawks but his inability to skate made it hard for him to stick. They traded him to a team that put him right in their NHL lineup for the rest of the season when they could have kept him in the AHL.

 

The upcoming draft is purportedly very deep. The supplimental pick could priovide the Hawks with potentially a more useful player than Captain Stairwell anyway.
