Why do you think that's a good idea?

 

Spoiler: it's a terrible idea.

 

Because the Bulls can't win a championship with that team in the near future. Rebuild it.

Looks bad. That said, I wouldn't bring it down just yet. Miami with only LeBron, a fading Wade and a suffocated Bosh (between Noah and Gibson we can drive him nuts) is beatable if we have scoring. Try this:

- Add McDermott, Mirotic and possibly Gasol (MLE)

- Bring back Augustin

- Sign a veteran forward, like a DeJuan Blair who can come in for 10 minutes a game and use his large ass to hurt people.

- Trade Snell and MDG for future picks.

- Sign a veteran SG backup with a shot and length (Alan Anderson? Anthony Morrow?)

 

Rose / Augustin

Butler / Anderson or Morrow or whomever

Mirotic /McDermott

Gibson / Gasol / Blair or whomever

Noah / Gasol / Blair or whomever

Mirotic can be an everyday SF?

Any teams that want Noah bad enough won't trade valuable NBA players for him. What would be the purpose of adding Noah if you are gonna trade good players for him. Players like Noah only get traded when they won't sign for their team.

 

We don't need to gut the team to win. Adding Mirotic and afflalo and bringing back a healthy Rose would have made us the best team in the east. Even with a good heat pickup I don't see them as better. Serious question. Has anybody ever made 5 consecutive finals in modern basketball. Seems nearly impossible.

 

Pacers losing Stephenson and yea I think the bulls are the best in the east with any of the decent available additions.

If we replace Naz with an actual big body then there are too many rotation calibre frot court players for Mirotic to play starter type minutes.

Do you think rebuilding an NBA team is like rebuilding an MLB team? Because that's the only way it kinda makes sense as to what you're saying. If you're going to pointlessly "gut" the team then you might as well trade Rose, too.

Pau Gasol turns 34 years old in two days. Anyone else flat out not interested in bringing him in? I'd much rather bring in Brand or Harrington at a fraction of the price and invest in a SF (assuming no Anthony).
