Am I missing something? Why is this not on WGN?

That was my thought, when was the last time the Easter game wasn't on WGN? Makes me wonder if this year's schedule is collateral damage for some of the negotiations for future seasons.

Posted

Maybe they decided to throw a bone to the CubsNet stations. It's not the black hole implied - besides WCIU, they blanket much of downstate Illinois and the Cubs' traditional enclaves in Indiana and Iowa.

Another potential factor - the Reds' presence knocks out a swath of the audience that would have seen the Cubs feed on EI and MLB.TV given the shared territories to the east.

Just grasping at straws, it is unusual but I can't imagine that the negotiations are a factor.

Station rebranding I guess... their 1st original series premieres tonight.

Yay, Sunday Cubs baseball on WCIU. Enjoy the game. If you can.

Might as well get used to it now because if you depend on WGN to watch games that's kinda over very soon.

I know it. I'm doing the mlb.tv thing now too.

I still think it's kind of crappy to have holiday baseball on the smallest outlet of the bunch though.

I feel like Villanueva keeps pitching after wins thereby eliminating any optimism I have of having like a winning streak.

What the hell was that strike call

I can't tell if I'm more amazed that he hit that ball or more pissed that he swung at it

Starlin just blew maybe the only chance any catcher will ever have of throwing out Hamilton

For as good as he has been so far, he is still a player that can drive you nuts as a fan. Villaneuva picks up his infielders with two key strikeouts.
