I became a hockey fan in the early 1990s, and this is basically how I always remember the Blues. A regular-season juggernaut who becomes a nice foil in the playoffs for the Red Wings or the Avs or now the Blackhawks.

I seem to remember a period of time where the Hawks were also like that. It seems like something that might be slightly more common in hockey for whatever reason.

I dont think that the Blues crapped out. They played well most of the series, just lost to a very good team. A couple of breaks go their way they could have very easily won this series. Its not like hey got their ass kicked or something

 

 

but they did crap the bed down the stretch to get such a tough first round match up
