I hope this is a bad backtobanks impression, because he's #10 of guys actually on the roster and #11 if you include Soriano according to BP.

Why would you include Soriano?

I wouldn't have included him, but considering the Cubs are paying him 13 or so million this year, it's certainly a consideration.

Was hoping they'd get him as I've always liked Bonifacio. Really hoping he makes the team.

 

Heyman just said he turned down major league deals for a minor league deal with us. I think that pretty much says he's making the team.

 

Yeah, that's got to be a verbal agreement, sort of like giving Schierholtz playing time.

 

Edit: or it could just be his agent saying agent-y things.

 

Apparently Heyman didn't quite have that right.

 

@CSNMooney Emilio Bonifacio said he didn’t receive offers for major-league deals elsewhere, but was assured he has a very good chance to make Cubs.
