Championship Weeks!

So for many people, it's the start if championship weeks, maybe it's the semis for some leagues. Who here is still playing for something?

 

I'll be making my first trip to the Championship. I've been riding a killer WR core of DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, and Antonio Brown. Hope they can all keep it up for two more weeks.

 

I am unfortunately facing Peyton Manning and Josh Gordon so this guy has some serious potential to put up numbers.

 

My possible saving grace; Nick Foles against two god awful defenses. He can potentially keep pace with Manning.

 

I also have Jimmy Graham and the KC and Car D's so needless to say I'm gonna be really pissed if I manage to lose. I did out-score this guy by 20 or so over the first round so hopefully a sign of things to come.

 

It's a winner take all pool so I'm still guaranteed nothing.

 

So share your fantasy success stories or pitfalls for the season. How'd you get here and what are you playing for?

Top 3 from each division. Division winners get byes. My division sucked. 6-7 team in 2nd, other 4 teams were 5-8. I had highest point total.

I'm in the championship game, with my opponent to be decided by Torrey Smith tonight. I had the most points and best record during the year, so I'll be pissed if I don't win. I'm already guaranteed of being up $200, even if I lose.

I take my team of Newton, Charles, Lacy, A.J. Green, A. Brown, Witten, Vereen, Rams D/ST, and Tucker into the Final in my 12-team money league for the second time in three years, where it will be a re-match of our title game in 2011; facing the same guy and hoping for the same result.

 

I have to face Kirk Cousins against Dallas, McCoy against Bears, Zac Stacy, Vernon Davis, Seahawks D/ST. His WRs are garbage though: Hartline, Golden Tate, Emmanuel Sanders, Cotchery.

 

Cousins and McCoy won't be stopped, but as long as nobody on my team takes a dump I should have a pretty good chance.

well, Megatron didn't beat me, even though the decision on my part to start Ray Rice over Chris Johnson and Rashard Mendenhall was a bit idiotic. Nick Foles bailed me out. My 6-8 regular season team is on it's way to the semis to play the #1 seed, a team i beat a few weeks ago.

Went from 5-6 and in 8th place to 8-6 and third place, pulled off a big win in the semis and now get the pleasure of facing Josh Gordon and Jamaal Charles. I have McCoy and Murray, which is the best RB duo in our league, but they aren't exactly locks for 25 touches. Plus, I rarely make the right call when it comes to Rivers or Brady.

I was sitting at 5-4-1 and won my last 4 to finish at 9-4-1 and get the #1 seed. I won my first round match up last week and am playing the #4 seed (who had the second best record but was behind me in my division). I hate that my league goes to week 17 for the championship, but I can't get anybody to agree to change anything.

In my lone money league, a five-game losing streak had my team was languishing in 10th place with two weeks to go and needing to make up a game to make the eight team playoffs. They caught fire just in time, leading the league in scoring the final two weeks to finish 6-7 and with the 6th seed.

 

In the playoffs we finished 1st and 2nd in scoring in the league and are now in the Championship Game against the #1 seed. Unfortunately they have every possible good match-up and are favored to win by 30. I need Charles or Gordon (or Brady/Rivers) to blow up again to take down the top prize.

Up by 19 in my champ game going into tomorrow night. He has Vernon Davis, I have Phil Dawson. I figure he'll need at least 25 from Vernon to win, probably a few more. I like my chances.

Eagles put up 54 and I only get 25 points from Foles and Jackson. [expletive]. As long as 9ers D doesn't go nuts tonight I should still be within striking distance to close the gap this week.

 

Also, screw the Chiefs D. And Reghie Bush.

Combined 51 points from McCoy and Murray and it won't matter one freaking bit because Philip Rivers [expletive] all over himself against the Raiders. Oh well, $60 ain't a bad consolation.

Took first in my dynasty/salary cap league - $250 for winning the league and $75 for being the #1 seed - not too shabby.

 

Finished third in the league I was defending champ in for another $75. would've repeated as champ had i not lost by 1 [expletive] point last week because of megatron's 3 or 4 drops, as i outscored both teams in the championship game this week. that one's going to annoy me for awhile.

I more than doubled my opponent in my semifinal, but I'm a little worried about next week because I'm not so sure Jamaal Charles and Eric Decker will be playing for any significant amount of time and I have to find a defense for next week too. No way i trust the Rams in Seattle.

Well the luster of my Jackson/Jeffrey/Brown trio wore off the last two weeks. And while I may still have had a chance with perfect hindsight (namely Car D over Chiefs in week 16) the former was definitely the main factor in my demise. In a winner take all league, second place stings. Looking forward to next year and my keepers.

To compound the horror of actually being at the Bears Packers game, my championship game ended in a [expletive] tie with no tie breakers set. Ridiculous. It was my 2nd tie of the year.
