Week 16: Bears (8-6) @ Eagles (8-6) 7:30 PM NBC

So if they flex the Bears-Packers to sunday night and the Bears lose tonight they could be eliminated before their week 17 game

(being purposely over negative so that good things happen)

did...they block a punt and then there's a penalty giving the Packers a first down?

I'm gonna kick my computer

blocked the field goal, picked it up, tried to lateral it while being tackled, the guy dropped it, and a lineman smacked it out of bounds. Penalty for hitting the ball out gives an auto-first down because the refs ruled the guy who lateralled never controlled it.

The Steelers should have challenged if Clark's knee was down, seeing as it had.

Just pure incompetence by the refs.

If the guy who "didn't have possession" was down?

Alright, Steelers got it right back. Good drive

and the Giants force a punt.

Hopefully someone can resurrect Eli's corpse

Come on, you know the refs didn't even see that much or they would have called it different.

Steelers take the lead

But if you're not allowed to challenge whether or not he had the ball, whether or not he was down is simply moot. They were totally screwed by the refs somehow not realizing that a player picked up the ball

That helps but it's about time Flynn did that.

I'd much rather see the Packers lose than the Lions. The Packers losing probably means they shut down Rodgers for next week.

Of course, if both of them lose that would be the best.

Yeah, I'm just not too hot on needing Lions help next week, that's all.

This doesn't make sense. If the Lions win and the Bears lose, they'll be depending on a Minnesota win (lol) next week to not be eliminated.

Its far, far, far, far better if the Lions get eliminated this week and at least the Bears can play themselves in, at home, against a mediocre team, that might not play Rodgers.

Guess it depends on how confident you are in the Bears winning tonight. A Lions loss would allow the Bears to still control their destiny going into week 17 (and eliminate Detroit) regardless of what the Bears do tonight. A Packers loss would mean nothing if the Bears also lose. If they win, the Bears would eliminate the Lions but would still need to beat the Packers (or a Lions loss) to make it

Put it this way....according to one of the playoff odds pages I was reading today, a Lions loss increases the Bears playoff odds by 17%. A Packers loss improves it only 5%
