This will be a tough one. It's at home and the Bears have a little momentum, but if Cutler does come back he'll probably have to do even better than McCown did yesterday to win. If Lacy and Starks ran at will against us with the Bears stacking 8 in the box to stop them, I am worried about how we can handle Reggie Bush with Stafford and CJ there to keep us honest. Last time it didn't work so well and that was with Briggs (but without Paea).

Ok, so...who had Matthew Stafford as the healthiest NFC North QB this season?

gooney saw it coming

What?

Is this about the silly thinking that what the offense did yesterday was shocking? Because it wasn't shocking. Anybody who pretends it was just hasn't paid attention to the Bears this season. That was going to be a high scoring loss until Rodgers went down. Instead it was a medium scoring win. McCown barely completed 50% of his passes and was under 300 yards with 2 touchdowns. It was against a weak pass defense and they still relied on Matt Forte very heavily.

And why do people put an "e" in there?

The funny thing is, there have been several times in the past where I've went to reference you and had to go to NSBB's user list to confirm that there was no e in there.

plus you aren't goony, you're his evil twin.

OK going over remaining schedules of teams we're probably competing with for playoff spots:

Lions (5-3):

@ Bears - L

@ Pitt - W

vs. TB - W

vs. GB - L if Rodgers is back

@ PHI - W

vs. BAL - W

vs. NYG - W

@ MIN - L (they are going to lose one they shouldnt along the way)

10-6

Packers (5-3):

vs. PHI - W

@ NYG - L

vs. MIN - W

@ DET - W

vs. ATL - W

@ DAL - L (again, losing one they shouldn't)

vs. PIT - W

@ CHI - W

11-5

Panthers (5-3):

@ SF - L

vs. NE - W

@ MIA - W

vs. TB - W

@ NO - L

vs. NYJ - W

vs. NO - L

@ ATL - W

10-6

Bears (5-3):

vs. DET - W

vs. BAL - L (briggs not back, ray rice field day)

@ STL - W

@ MIN - W

vs. DAL - L

@ CLE - W

@ PHI - W

vs. GB - L

10-6

Could include Arizona, Philly and Washington but whatever. Panthers, Bears and Lions tie for wild card at 10-6. Bears take the Lions on tiebreaker, and take the Panthers by having a 4-1 record in common games vs. 3-2 for Carolina.

Sorry I'm bored

It's not like you were the only one who had confidence the Bears could score a bit. Raw, bukie (at least his score prediction) and I said as much too.

If the season ended today, Detroit would win the North and neither the Bears or Packers would make the playoffs while Carolina would be the second wild card. I totally forgot Carolina had a good record.

If the Saints don't figure out a way to slow down a pass rush, I wouldn't count on them sweeping the Panthers.

Hope the Lions play stupid. Because they are a really tough matchup for the Bears. The defense is actually significantly worse than when they last played, and Calvin is healthier. No reason they shouldn't be able to run and pass all over the Bears. Bears can score with them, but can't turn the ball over.

"We're in pretty good hands with Josh [McCown]. No need to rush back before I'm medically cleared," Cutler said.

Said after the game last night. I'm guessing he sits out one more week.

WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS DERRICK ROSE????????????????

Looking at efficiency numbers, the Bears' D is actually holding its own excepting the safeties and pressuring the passer, which allows opposing #1 WRs and TEs a field day in the secondary. If they can fix just one of those somehow, they're in really good shape the rest of the way.

Some of the grades I've seen on PFF:

McCown +5.6

Slauson +5.2 (+4.7 run block - highest grade of his career)

Bushrod +3.5

Marshall +3.3

Forte +3.0

Garza +2.4

Frey +1.9

------------------

Conte -1.2 (-2.7 run)

Paea -1.9

M. Bennett -2.7

McClellen -3.1 (-3.6 run)

Mills -3.5 (-5.1 pass)

Wright -4.3 (-4.7 run)

After another trio of missed tackles last night Major Wright has already surpassed his missed tackle total from last season (10) by three.
