Challenging the spot of the ball, especially when we're talking about a matter of inches seems like the hardest thing to overturn in football.

Also, if the spot is changed and its 4th down, the vikings will just do a QB sneak and get the 1st anyways.

Poor challenge IMO.

OK, you can say he won't be successful. But don't say that's a "bad challenge." It's clearly worth a try. Ball came out clearly short of the marker, and there are pretty good angles.

He may lose it, but it's not bad to challenge this.

Why? The reward is minimal on that challenge IMO. It was very very close and at best you get a 4th and inches that a team will convert 95% of the time for a 1st. It's not worth risking 1 of your TOs

It's easy to say that now that they went for it. That was a big risk they took. If they don't get it there, the whole game may turn around against the Vikes.

It was a good challenge, and a successful one.

It was easy to say it before, too.

this is about the time jay throws a pick to an under linebacker or over safety he didn't see

No I actually said that before the challenge was even made. That is literally somewhere between a 90-95% success rate. If you do a risk analysis I'm confident that the potential reward in that situation does not outweigh the risk.
