I knew something was up with Kane County's TBA - Daury Torrez up to Kane County!

Alcantara 3B followed by a Javy sac fly.

then a villanueva home run.

lots of good pitching so far. corey black was very good and had no walks in 6 innings. daury torres is holding his own in his first kc start. neil ramirez has been rolling. hell, even casey coleman is pitching well, though nobody cares about that.

Daury Torrez skipping Boise, fabulous. I hope Leal gets a chance as well.

KC's season ends after this weekend. Leal (and Torrez) might end up at Boise if they make the playoffs.

Don't know about anyone else, but it amazes me how much better I feel about the pitching in the system than at season start.

agreed. good draft for pitching, good trades, and not many pitchers have taken steps backward or gotten hurt this year.

2 IP, 2 K for Ramirez so far.

Wish I could actually watch what I paid for. (smokies just don't show up on the milb.tv list and the radio link gives an error)

Yeah, we may not have any superstuds, but we have a ton of live arms that stand a decent chance of contributing to a major league staff.

I re-jiggered my top 30 today, and I have 16 pitchers to 14 position players.

Of course, 9 of the top 11 are hitters, but still.

was Ramirez on a pitch count?

probably, considering he's coming off some injury issues

Since no one has talked about it

Scott Baker (elbow) threw five scoreless innings in his rehab debut Wednesday with Low-A Kane County.

Baker retired the first 13 batters he faced and yielded just one hit in all. The right-hander is still making his way back from Tommy John surgery and still hoping to join the Cubs' rotation at some point this season.
