Of all the players on this team that have any reasonable chance of being here next year, Schierholtz, Travis Wood and a couple of middle relievers are pretty much the only ones playing at least as well as they ought to be (add Valbuena too, forgot him since he's been DL'd). So yay for that.

I sure hope the young guys in the minors can develop quickly because this roster is about as bad as it's ever been in my lifetime.

 

I understand this is by design to build for the future, but it's pretty discouraging when guys like Castro and Rizzo look like horsechit.

Ugh, horrible that neither Castro or Rizzo have an OPS above .751 this year.

 

Miggy OPS 1.138

Rizzo + Castro combined OPS 1.381

Valbuena has been crap for awhile now.

 

It's difficult to be productive from the disabled list.

 

His last two months haven't been very good, but the K/BB has been good so it's probably just BABIP normalization. On the whole he's still had a very good year.

The problem/frustrating part is that we really only dealt Soriano from our lineup. We are trotting out these lineups with 6 of 8 (sometimes 7) regulars still around. Not too mention that Lake and Murphy are currently outperforming Soriano-Valbuena and we are still putrid. So basically this probably gets even worse. (is that possible)
