For me, he wins the best name in the draft prize. He's no Rock Shoulders, but that sounds like a totally made up video game name.

Vogelbach heating up as predicted by many in Cubs management. He's batting over .400 in his last ten games with 7 BB and 1 K. 3 double and a HR in that span.

Lake with his 4th HR. I hope both Watkins and him get a months worth of major league at bats somehow this year.

Jokisch putting together another nice outing. Thru 5, 4 H, 1 R (earned), 2 BB. 8 K. He is coming off of a June performance where he pitched 32 IP, 22H, 10 BB, 28 K and a 1.97 ERA.

Don't look now, but here comes Ben Wells. He went 7 scoreless today giving up just 2 hits while walking 1 & striking out 3. This after a June in he pitched 20.2 IP, 16 H, 5, BB, 19 K and a 2.61 ERA. I wonder if he's picked up any velo? Anyone know?

Dillon Maples in the game for Kane County. Let's hope he saves the fireworks until after the game...

So far, so good. 1 hitless inning, no walks, two strikeouts...

Speaking of "don't look now" but Javy Baez with 1-3, with a BB today, now has a BB/PA of .063. That's a pretty respectable number for a 20 year old kid in high A ball, that should only get more patient. Also that rate is over 10% in the last month and a half.

Earlier in the season, Wells was 90-92.

does hannemann have lyme disease or something? he sat out two games on the 29th and 30th apparently just to have a rest, then played on the 1st and 2nd, and now he's sitting out a second straight game.

He was a late scratch last night. Hope it's nothing too serious.

I think its very important that this happens. It sure would be nice to have a better idea what we have with both heading into 2014, even if it is just utility guys.
